ABOUT PROUD VALIANTS
Established on 17 May 2015 to coincide with the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia ("IDAHO Day"), We are very proud to be entering into our 10th Anniversary and going from strength to strength. Highlights of the last Decade include:

June 2015 - 10 Members of the Proud Valiants march in the London Pride March.

May 2016 - Our Chair was invited to Parliment to give evidence to a Select Committee to discuss issues regarding Homophobia in Football.

May 2016 - The Proud Valiants in association with The Club host the First Charlton vs Homophobia Tournament takes place at The Valley. Teams include: The RAF, Proud Valiants, A CAFC Staff Team and University of Greenwich.

March 2017 - The Proud Valiants in association with The Club and Trust host the first Football vs Homophobia against Scunthorpe United.

June 2018 - The Proud Valiants join other groups in the Charlton Family to become the joint first LGBTQI+ Supporters Group to have a float in London Pride. The Group saw nearly 100 members taking part in the parade.

July 2018 - Charlton Legend Paul Mortimer becomes our Patron.

May 2019 - We Win the 4th Charlton vs Homophobia Tornament Hosted at The Valley.

Sept 2019 - We win the Football Supporters Association Fans for Diversity League One category.

Jan 2020 - We are Shortlisted for the inaugural Football vs Homophobia Awards.

Feb 2020 - The Pink Singers join us for a remarkable Football vs Homophobia dedicated match.

During lockdown we continued to have online events, regular check in Zooms and fun events like The Worse Football Song of All Time, The bumper quiz and an interesting forum where different LGBTQI+ groups from across the globe took place across the world.

Jan 2021 - We make history by being the first LGBTQI+ group to partner with an overseas group - The San Diego Loyal Rainbow Fans.

Feb 2021 - We co-host the online launch of the 2021 Football vs Homophobia Month of action with a Charlton TV special, hosted by Scott Minto. This video has now been accesses over 10,000 times. Click here to watch the launch.

Feb 2022 - The Charlton Family win 3 Awards at the Football vs Homophobia Awards, including our Chair winning the FvH Hero Award.

Feb 2022 - We met the Women's Team to discuss Homophobia/ Transphobia in the game.

Jan 2023 - We met the Men's Team to discuss Homophobia/ Transphobia in the game.

Feb 2024 - We met the Academy Side Team to discuss Homophobia/ Transphobia in the game.

Feb 2024 - In conjunction with Charlton Athletic, Charlton Athletic Community Trust and the University of Greenwich, we host the largest ever Football Vs Homophobia dedicated Men's and Women's Matches.
Also during our 10 years, we have supported and helped many other LGBTQI+ supporters group form or get recognition from their professional clubs.
During the year we also have presented a number of awards.
The Proud Valiants Vase: This is an award we give to someone who we feel has worked tirelessly fighting prejudice especially homophobia/ Transphobia in football.
Past winners: Lou Englefield, Anwar Udden (OBE), Tom Rubashow, Paul Mortimer and in 2024 - Dr Michael Seeraj.
We also present Player of the Season Awards, these awards are voted on by our members and supporters. recent recipients are:
